Take the apple watch series 7, for example; while the 41mm has a display area of 904 sq mm, the one with 45mm has a display real state of over 1143 sq mm, which is 28.7% larger than that of the 41mm. Thanks to its larger display, everything looks much crisper and sharper in the 45mm variant.
The length of the strap or bracelet is also an important part of a watch’s sizing. Smaller watches of up to 36mm usually look proportional on a 6” wrist or less. Mid-sized watches 38mm to 42mm will look proportional on a 6” to 7” wrist. Larger watches of 44mm to 46mm will look proportional on a 7” to 8” wrist.
The smaller 41mm model is lighter at 49.2 grams compared to the 53.8 grams of the 45mm model (unless you opt for a titanium body which lowers the weight to 43 grams) The 41mm model is around $30 cheaper than the bigger 45mm version. The Galaxy Watch 3 uses 20 and 22 mm straps for the 41 and 45mm models respectively.
So, to reiterate, the watch at left, the 15400 is your standard Royal Oak at 41mm and the watch at right, the reference 15450 is a brand new option. It does, of course, come in steel and without diamonds, and actually wears quite well on a man at 37mm just like the 37mm Royal Oak Offshore from two years ago ( seen live here ).
Is The 41mm Apple Watch Too Small? The 41mm Apple Watch is just a tad bigger than the 40mm from last year. Is Apple Watch 45mm Too Big? The 45mm model of the Apple Watch is the largest size
As my watch collection continues to grow, the Hydroconquest is the one that goes with me for most of my outdoor activities whether it’s hiking or swimming in the ocean. It’s been a little over a year and it still runs around +4 seconds a day which I’m thrilled with.
