The car is a fiat stilo 1.6 16v dynamic 2002. They told me by the dealerschip that they put in the new software, but i don't really think that was a problem then or is a problem now. Is there any chance that a faulty sensor could cause the car to do what it's doing?
Ive done a quick search regarding the problem on my car. I was on the way home from town and as i was about to pull onto the A1 the engine warning light came on and car seemed like it was going to stall, so i made a detour to a side street. Kept on happening so i had to get my car on a truck
Stilo starting problem (Please read techy's!) Basicaly my stilo 1.6 16v Will not start when it is warm. I get ' Security failure loost connection ', a padlock icon appears and a little spanner. The petrol pump just keeps picking away until the engine finaly cools down and then i can start it again.

The car has reduced power in 4th and 5th gear. It slowly accelerates up to motorway speeds. The engine sounds fine and seems ok in lower gears.

The engine fault light came on a couple of weeks ago and the car cuts out all the time when I stop a junctions/lights etc. Took it to a garage I know as service and MOT were due. Changed the cambelt too as done 74k miles. The Garage cleared the fault code and said it was the MAP sensor but probably something to do with air.
